Chiropractic care
Your body is designed to be self-healing and self-regulating, with the ability to adapt to its environment-but when your nervous system doesn’t work as it should as a result of stress, other systems break down as well, and you experience symptoms like pain or dysfunction.
When your nervous system is free of interference, your body can function the way it was designed to.
Your nervous system controls all the cells, organs and tissues in the body; it’s how your body and brain communicate with one another. As we go through our daily lives, our nervous system is inundated with physical, chemical and emotional stressors. Physical stress includes things like accidents or repetitive issues like looking down at devices. Chemical stress can be environmental toxins like exhaust, or things we ingest like alcohol, junk food or tobacco. And emotional stress may include worry over finances, a divorce or life during a pandemic.

Your body has an innate intelligence to adapt to these stresses, but sometimes it reaches a point where there is too much stress and the body can’t adapt. That may manifest as symptoms like pain, anxiety, poor sleep, poor digestion or any other type of dysfunction.
How Chiropractic care helps
At Rooted in Wellness Chiropractic, we assess your body to determine how well your nervous system is adapting to stress and locate areas where you’re holding onto that stress. Then we release it through precise, gentle, low-force adjustments. Dr. Jo Anne is certified in webster technique for use during pregnancy, and she also offers torque release technique®, which is an instrument-assisted technique that is safe and gentle for everyone from newborns to folks in their hundreds.
Chiropractic care doesn’t treat or cure anything—your body does that. We simply remove interference so proper communication between your brain and body can resume. Then healing can take place from within, and you can function at your best and adapt more easily to the stress of daily life.
Frequently asked questions (faqs)
Is chiropractic care safe?
Absolutely! Chiropractic care is a safe, gentle, non-invasive, and drug-free approach to health care. At Rooted in Wellness Chiropractic, we use a very gentle and specific approach to your nervous system. Chiropractic care is so safe, in fact, that it can be used on anyone from a brand new baby all the way up to great grandparents. Because chiropractic care is so safe, chiropractors enjoy one of the lowest malpractice rates of all healthcare providers.
How much does chiropractic care cost?
Our goal at Rooted in Wellness Chiropractic is to make your care as affordable as possible. Studies have shown that chiropractic patients and insurance companies save significantly on healthcare costs such as hospitalizations, surgeries, medications and more. As every person and situation is different, it is difficult to know how much your care will cost before the doctor has a chance to evaluate you. After you complete the initial consultation and assessments, the doctor will be able to determine your recommendations for care and a plan of action to help you reach your health goals. At your second visit, all financials will be explained and questions answered. It is important to us to keep care affordable for the whole family, so we have a variety of options available to you.
How long will it take before I feel better?
The beautiful thing about people is that we are all different; and therefore, all respond to care differently. Some people feel better after one adjustment, while others start to see change after a few months of care. The key thing to remember here is that we get your body functioning properly. Pain is a symptom of dysfunction that often appears much later than the initial problem, so removing pain is just the start to your healing journey. Some patients report healing sensations – “retracing” – where they feel worse for a period of time before they start to feel better. Most of the time patients report improved sleep, increased energy and overall better brain function after their first few adjustments. We guarantee that following each adjustment, your body will be on its way to improved function with the removal of nerve interference. Healing is a journey and it takes time and repetition.
Why don’t you accept insurance?
This is a fairly common question and there are a few reasons as to why. We do not want insurance companies to dictate your care. For the most part, insurance companies are focused on short-term, symptom based care and treatment, and not long-term, preventative wellness. Our goal is to determine the root cause of your symptoms for long lasting relief and improved quality of life. Insurance companies most often only cover that short-term, “active care” and we know the importance of consistent, nervous system focused, care. At Rooted in Wellness Chiropractic we keep our prices affordable by saving on the added cost of billing and not having to inflate prices based on reimbursement percentages. Our prices are often lower than a co-pay for an insurance company. If you have any more questions on this topic, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We welcome open and honest conversations around finances.
My back doesn’t hurt, why should I come see you?
It is important to remember that pain is typically one of the last symptoms to show up and one of the first to go away. With this information, we know that by the time pain shows up, there is often another dysfunction going on. While we certainly want you to be pain free, we also want to make sure you’re functioning at your best. Non-pain dysfunction can often look like poor sleep, poor digestion, poor immune function, brain fog, ect. At Rooted in Wellness Chiropractic, it is our goal to make sure you are functioning at your best and are better able to adapt to the stressors life throws at you.
When will I get my first adjustment?
At Rooted in Wellness Chiropractic, we take your care very seriously. Your first appointment will consist of a thorough history and exam along with three separate neurological evaluations. We want to make sure we have the full picture of your story. Between your first and second visit, Dr. Jo Anne will carefully go over your findings and create a care plan specific to you and your goals. She will go over all your findings at that second visit and answer any questions you may have. At that point, if you would like to move forward, you will receive your first adjustment.
Will Chiropractic care cure me?
Chiropractic care is not designed to treat or cure any disease or illness you may be suffering from. Chiropractic care addresses your body’s nervous system and corrects any miscommunications to allow for full, uninterrupted communication between your brain and your body. The beautiful thing about the human body is that it is designed to self heal and adapt to its environment. We know that when your nervous system is free from interference, your body is more capable to heal on its own.
